The Nissan Leaf 2026 already has an official price in the United States
The Nissan Leaf 2026 is set to conquer the US market, offering nearly 500 kilometers of EPA range and a starting price below 30 thousand dollars.
The new Nissan Leaf 2026 will arrive at US dealerships this coming fall, and it will also feature a redesigned look, greater range and a genuinely competitive base price. These will be the weapons the Japanese manufacturer will use to try to make this third generation of its most popular electric car a sales success.
The Leaf 2026 will be available in several versions. The entry-level version at launch, called S+, will have a starting price of $29,990, making it even more affordable than the first-generation Leaf when it hit the market in 2011, whose base price was $32,780 in the US market.

The Japanese manufacturer also plans to market, several months after the launch of this third generation of the Leaf, an even more affordable S version, about which we have no information yet regarding its selling price or specifications.
Likewise, at the top of the range, the SV+ version of the 2026 Leaf will go on sale this fall in the United States for $34,230, also cheaper than the 2025 Leaf SV Plus, which costs $1,960 more. Nissan will additionally offer a special Platinum+ edition for $38,990, which will offer the highest level of equipment.
Other noteworthy details
As for technical specifications, we know today that the S+, SV+ and Platinum+ versions will be equipped with a 75 kWh battery pack, accompanied by a 215-horsepower powertrain, with an estimated EPA range of up to 303 miles. That is roughly 488 km. On the other hand, the base Leaf S, which as we have already mentioned will arrive a little later, will be equipped with a 52 kWh battery and a 174-horsepower motor. These are therefore somewhat more modest specifications that will allow for a lower retail price.

In the United States, the 2026 Leaf will come standard with compatibility with the North American NACS charging standard, granting access to more than 20 thousand Tesla Superchargers in North America, and it is also compatible with the Plug&Charge function, which considerably simplifies the charging process. The new electric car from Nissan will also stand out for offering V2L bidirectional charging, allowing it to power external electronic devices.
With dimensions of 4.35 meters long, 1.81 wide and 1.55 high, and a wheelbase of 2.69 meters, the 2026 Leaf sits within the Japanese manufacturer’s range between the Nissan Ariya (4.60 meters) and the new Micra (3.97 meters). Its exterior design stands out for its flush-mounted motorized door handles, a first in a production vehicle from Nissan, as well as its sloping roofline inspired by the Nissan Z sports car.
The 2026 Leaf will also offer, in some of its versions, an electrochromic panoramic roof, capable of switching from opaque to transparent at the touch of a button, an innovation we have not yet seen in other models in its segment.

“The Nissan Leaf 2026 reflects our commitment to sustainable mobility. By combining greater range, advanced technology and an accessible price, we consolidate the Leaf’s position in the electric vehicle market.”
