Micra Nissan Electric Cars Urban
The Nissan Micra is coming soon and will have a lot to do with the Renault 5
The Nissan Micra is going to return to the market as an electric car that will have a lot to do with the Renault 5 that the French brand has presented.

For several months now we have known that the Nissan Micra will return to the market, although it will do so as an electric car. The Micra has been one of the best-known and best-selling models of the Japanese brand and, although it was discontinued, we knew it would come back sooner or later as an electric city car. Finally, it has been revealed that the new Nissan project will carry this name, and in 2026 we will be able to see the Micra back on city streets around the world.
For several months, the news was that this new electric city car would come from the brand AMPERE, the new subsidiary of the Renault-Nissan alliance that is working on new models of this type. What we already know is that this new electric city car will be the new Micra. And not only that, but to design it they have looked closely at the new Renault 5.

In principle, the new Nissan Micra will be based on the AmpR Small platform, the same one used by the Renault 5. The Micra will have styling changes to set it apart from the Renault model. It will have differentiated bumpers, light clusters with a new design both at the front and rear, and other elements that will visually set the two models apart, even though they share a common base.
As for the powertrain, both models are expected to have the same drive system. The Renault 5 offers an electric motor with three power outputs, 95, 120 and 150 CV. The battery packs will come in two options, one of 40 kWh and another of 52 kWh. With these specifications, the range runs from 300 to 410 kilometres.
The charging system that the new Nissan Micra is expected to offer will allow it to reach a charging rate of 100 kW. As for the price, it is expected to range between 25,000 and 35,000 euros, depending on the version chosen.
Nissan is going through a rather tough time, with staff reductions and salary cuts, so the arrival of this model and others like the also upcoming new LEAF could be very important for the future of the brand.
