The Nissan Qashqai is still the best-selling crossover… 10 years later!

The Nissan Qashqai reached a sales record in 2017 that makes it the most in-demand crossover in the Spanish market.

Crossovers are now the segment driving the evolution of the various car markets, especially the Spanish market, where in 2017 they accounted for 36% of total registrations. In other words, 1 in every 3 vehicles sold in Spain is a crossover. The Nissan Qashqai has always been the benchmark in this segment, as it was the first in the category, and this year it has reaffirmed its leadership.

Over the last ten years, SUVs have undergone a very significant evolution. Ten years ago, there were 16 brands on the market offering a vehicle of this kind; today, 35 brands have one or more models in the crossover segment. Nissan has led this segment since launching the first generation of the Qashqai ten years ago. In 2017, the Japanese firm regained its title as leader in the crossover segment with outstanding sales figures.
