The Opel Corsa Hybrid already boasts its 48 V mild-hybrid technology in Spain

Just a few days ago the Opel Corsa Electric was in the spotlight as the brand announced the market launch of the “Yes” special edition, focused on special aesthetic details and an expanded standard equipment list. Now the Opel Corsa is in the news again, this time regarding the Hybrid version with 48 V system, which was unveiled at the end of last year and is now going on sale.

The major news for the Opel Corsa Hybrid is its engine, which varies depending on the trim level. Let us recall that the Opel Corsa is available first in the Edition trim, for which the hybrid system, made up of a three-cylinder 1,200 cc turbo engine that produces 100 CV, works together with a six-speed electrified dual-clutch gearbox, which also houses the 28 CV electric motor. If we opt for the GS trim, we can also choose this power output but, if we need more, it is also available with 136 CV and the same gearbox.

The hybrid system of the Opel Corsa Hybrid is completed by the 48 V battery, which recharges during braking or deceleration phases, helping to reduce both consumption and CO2 emissions, especially in urban environments, where, at low speeds, it allows up to 1 kilometre of fully electric driving, which is recovered as soon as the battery is charged or during the regeneration phase. In fact, in its 100 CV version this engine registers combined consumption of 4.8-4.5 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 108-101 g/km; while in the 136 version the figures rise slightly to 4.7-4.6 l/100 km and 106-103 g/km respectively.

Furthermore, from the entry-level Edition trim onwards, it comes with a comprehensive standard equipment list that includes items such as:

As mentioned above, the new Opel Corsa Hybrid is now available at the brand’s Spanish dealerships, with prices starting from 22,250 euros for the Edition trim and from 26,350 euros for the GS trim, both including VAT but excluding any possible commercial discounts.
