The Pagani Huayra R, the most radical version of the hypercar, will arrive on March 18
Pagani is preparing to unveil the ultimate finale of the Huayra with the Pagani Huayra R, a version that will arrive next March 18.
Pagani has long been working on different versions of the Pagani Huayra, the worthy successor to the iconic Zonda. However, everything points to Horacio Pagani’s company being about to bring its current hypercar to an end with a finale few brands can offer: the Pagani Huayra R. That’s right, Pagani has just announced that on March 18 we will witness the indomitable Huayra R, a variant that will directly carry on the legacy of the Zonda R.
For now, the Italian brand has revealed very few details about its new and most radical Huayra, but we can start to anticipate certain details. Until now, the most radical Pagani was the Pagani Huayra BC, a special edition conceived to pay tribute to a good customer of the brand, Benny Caiola.
But the brand has decided to make a bold move and deliver a strong blow to its competition. With all this, the Huayra R arrives to crown itself as one of the most radical hypercars of the moment, although, yes, with performance that can only be exploited on a circuit. In this way, the Italian firm is setting its sights on the McLaren Senna GTR and company.
Pagani has not yet shared any official image of the Pagani Huayra R, just a teaser video alluding to its predecessors and great feats in competition. However, expect sophisticated aerodynamics, a significant weight reduction through the use of carbon fiber, and the removal of certain superfluous elements found in a racing car and, of course, an improved powertrain.
And everything points to the Huayra R continuing to flaunt the 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine, an engine on the verge of extinction. However, this time it will not settle for the 730 CV and 1,000 Nm of torque declared for the “standard” variant; its power could rise to 900 CV and perhaps even exceed that comfortably, leaving a power-to-weight ratio that will be hard to match.

Either way, March 18 is when we will learn every single detail of the new Pagani Huayra R. Once unveiled, the company is expected to put an end to Huayra production to make way for its successor, which is already expected to incorporate a hybrid system under the skin.
