The Peugeot 508L PHEV arrives in China with a fully electric range of 40 kilometres

The Peugeot 508L PHEV arrives on the Chinese market with 250 CV and a fully electric range of 40 kilometres.

Peugeot will use the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show to present the new Peugeot 508L PHEV. Now, after the presentation of the Peugeot 508L last year, the plug-in hybrid version arrives.

For the time being, the lion brand has not published many details about this zero-emission vehicle, but in all likelihood the new Peugeot 508L plug-in hybrid could be fitted with the same powertrain as the rest of the brand’s plug-in hybrid versions.

These systems are front-wheel drive and combine a 1.6-litre PureTech petrol engine capable of delivering 180 CV with an electric motor of 80 kW. The combined output of both is 250 CV.

In addition, under the skin of the Peugeot 508L PHEV you will find a 11.8 kWh battery pack that will allow a fully electric range of 40 kilometres.

Beyond the possible powertrain, the Peugeot 508L PHEV may not have the same dimensions as the rest of the Peugeot 508 range. Consequently, the wheelbase will be 55 mm longer, which means 2.2 inches more than the conventional model. The wheelbase will also increase by 112 inches, reaching 2,848 mm.

The bodywork of the future Peugeot 508L PHEV has also grown, meaning the vehicle is 3.94 inches longer than the standard model, reaching 4,856 mm. The French brand has also stated that during the Shanghai Auto Show it will also exhibit the Peugeot 308, the Peugeot 408, the Peugeot 4008 and the Peugeot 5008.
