The price of petrol in Italy

A few days ago we started a special test with the Chevrolet Orlando, to put this MPV to the test. We travelled to Italy, passing through France, and before getting into the route in depth (which you could follow live on Twitter), I wanted to address the issue of petrol and diesel prices outside Spain.
It is true that in our country petrol is not cheap, but honestly, after being in Italy (where the purchasing power is similar to ours) and seeing the prices fuel has there, in our country they seem very reasonable to me.

As an example, we have diesel: unlike in Spain, in the rest of European countries there is real competition in fuel prices depending on the service station. Well then, diesel prices ranged from 1.37 euros/litre (at the cheapest) up to almost 1.52 euros/litre.
Meanwhile, in the case of 95-octane petrol, the maximum price has reached 1.62 euros/litre, certainly a prohibitive price for those who have to use petrol. If we want to fill a 65-litre tank with diesel in Italy, we have to pay on average 11.05 euros more (average Spanish price 1.28 €/litre and Italian 1.45 €/litre).
In short, it is true that petrol prices are high, but it is clear that in Spain we are not the ones who pay the most, because all around us, from Portugal to Italy, they pay more than we do.
