The proof that Alonso will race in the 24 Hours of Le Mans

The Asturian driver wants to win the Triple Crown of motorsport, and his goal is to come out victorious at the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Fernando Alonso is ready to win the Triple Crown of motorsport. The Spanish driver has already confirmed that he will race in the 24 Hours of Daytona, an event that would be the perfect preparation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans (one of the competitions on which the Triple Crown is based), and according to the latest reports the Asturian driver will take part in its next edition. According to information gathered by the newspaper Daily Sportscar, the “nano” was reportedly seen at the headquarters of Toyota Motorsport GmbH in Cologne (Germany) testing the measurements of his future seat for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The information originally comes from an anonymous source, so we cannot confirm 100% that this has actually happened.

The Daily Sportscar report also confirms that Toyota is leaving the “door open” for Alonso to race with Toyota in the LMP1 category at Le Mans.

On the other hand, the online publications Motorsport and Autosport have echoed news that would further confirm the Asturian’s presence at the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans. According to these outlets, Alonso will drive a Toyota TS050 Hybrid in the Bahrain test to be held on 19 November, a training session aimed at rookies that takes place after the last WEC race.
