The PSA Group plans to launch an economical model aimed at emerging markets

This strategy of including a low-cost vehicle in the range is something more than one manufacturer is already considering, especially given the example of the Logan, which is very popular in Russia or Romania, and has also gained a presence in more Western countries. On this occasion, it is PSA (made up of Peugeot and Citroën) that has confirmed that it will market a model with these characteristics, planned for 2011.
It would have five seats, and its initial destinations would be Central and Eastern Europe, as well as Turkey and North Africa. Later, if it is successful, it could also be taken to South America. However, the CEO of the group, Christian Streiff, has stated that they have no intention of selling it in Western Europe, unlike the Logan.
