The Renault Megane and the Nissan Qashqai dominated the Spanish market in September

The Renault Megane and the Nissan Qashqai took most of the sales in Spain during September, according to Anfac. While the Megane is a regular visitor to the top spots in the sales charts, the Qashqai snatched second place from the Seat Ibiza by a very small margin.

And speaking of numbers, the Megane sold 3,136 units, followed by the Qashqai with 1,723. Very close behind, the Ibiza with 1,718 and the Citroën C4 in fourth place with 1,641 vehicles sold. In the cumulative brand ranking, Renault leads the list with 5,472 vehicles, followed by Peugeot with 4,884. Just a few units behind, Volkswagen has finished third with 4,864.

In the electric category, things are very quiet and far from the optimistic forecasts of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade (which put the cart before the horse) of 12,000 units by the end of this year: the Citroën C-Zero sold 5 units in September, the Nissan Leaf an astronomical 14 units, and the Peugeot iOn was the best-seller with 24, while neither the Think! nor the Mitsubishi iMiev sold a single unit in September.

Hybrids have achieved very good sales in Spain, unlike electric cars. So far, more than 7,000 vehicles have been delivered since January, and growth is sustained.
