In the automotive world, farewells are inevitable, but so are exciting beginnings. The Renault Mégane has quietly retired, carrying the weight of its sentence on its shoulders, but its successor already has a name: the Renault Symbioz, a new compact family SUV in the C-segment that will be presented next spring and was first unveiled as a concept car at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2017.

This new SUV, a member of the Renault family, will include the new “Solarbay” panoramic roof in its equipment, debuted on the new Rafale, but no extra payment will be required; it will be one of the standard features of this Symbioz in its production version. It promises to delight drivers with its combination of driving pleasure, spaciousness and efficiency, thanks to its innovative E-Tech full hybrid 145 powertrain.

The name “Symbioz” derives from the French word “symbiose”, which has its roots in the Greek “symbiosis”, meaning “living together”. This name embodies the spirit of Renault, with which the brand wants to represent the symbiotic relationship between the driver, their family and the vehicle, demonstrating that these vehicles are not mere transport, but also life companions.

SUV, compact and family-friendly

At just 4.41 metres long, the Symbioz positions itself as the most compact SUV in its segment, yet it does not sacrifice interior space or cargo capacity. On the contrary, it offers a generous cabin and ample storage volume, perfect for meeting the needs of modern families.

Inside, the Symbioz is equipped with the latest technology Renault. Highlights include the next-generation Solarbay panoramic roof, based on the innovative PDLC technology, which allows the glass to darken without the need for blinds.

This model will feature the powerful E-Tech full hybrid 145 hp engine, which guarantees exceptional performance and reduced fuel consumption, as seen in other models from the brand. Thanks to its light weight, under 1,500 kg, this SUV offers agile and dynamic driving without compromising energy efficiency.

The offensive in the C-segment

With the launch of the Symbioz, Renault continues its offensive in the competitive C-segment, offering a complete range of vehicles to suit the needs of all customers, from electric models to hybrids.

In addition to the Symbioz, the Renault range in the C-segment includes the 100% electric Megane E-Tech and the 100% electric Scenic E-Tech, ideal for those seeking emission-free driving. For those who prefer the versatility of hybrids, Renault also offers the Austral E-Tech full hybrid and the Arkana E-Tech full hybrid, two SUVs that combine cutting-edge technology with innovative design.

With its presentation scheduled for spring 2024, the Renault Symbioz is ready to mark a new beginning in the automotive world.
