Renault Trucks set out to capture the spirit of competition in its flagship truck, the T model, based on the also special High Edition series

We usually present the special editions that brands make of their passenger cars, whether SUVs, saloons, sports cars or convertibles, to name a few. But today we bring you a special edition that deserves a mention, much larger than usual, because Renault this time has wanted to capture its racing spirit in its T range of trucks designed for freight transport.

Last year, during the IAA Hanover show, one of the most important events for the transport world, Renault unveiled a special series of its T range of trucks, called High Edition. Now, based on this special series, they have wanted to pay tribute to Team Alpine, which takes part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and which, incidentally, were crowned champions last year in the LMP2 category.

This T High Edition – Team Alpine special series has been developed in close collaboration with the Alpine team itself, with the aim of creating a product that draws as much inspiration as possible from competition. On the outside, the bodywork features an elegant Pearl White, which contrasts perfectly with the Alpine blue details applied to areas such as the mirrors, the grille, the headlight surrounds or the black aluminium wheels. The fuel tank fairing displays the Alpine logo and, on the sun visor, a sticker reading Team Alpine.

But the changes are not limited to the exterior: inside, aluminium finishes have been applied to the dashboard, and two-tone leather is used for the upholstery. This same material has also been used in other areas, such as the two armrests of the driver’s seat and the steering wheel. Otherwise, the same elements found in the T High Edition are present.

As for the engine, they could have fitted the engine from Team Alpine’s LMP2, but they chose not to make major modifications and kept the equally monstrous 13-litre Euro 6 Step C engine with common-rail injection, which delivers a power of 520 CV, and also fitted the Fuel Eco+ Pack to achieve moderate consumption.
