The Renault Twizy faces a European recall
The Renault Twizy is receiving its first recall to fix a brake fluid leak problem. Spain and Switzerland are the first countries where the recall has begun.

While the Renault Twizy is doing a fairly good job of keeping electric vehicle sales afloat, especially in France, it now has to deal with a recall that has not affected the batteries or the electric drivetrain of the Twizy, but rather the least expected component: the brakes.
Indeed, no fewer than 8,000 Renault Twizys will have to go to the workshop as part of a recall to fix a brake problem. The problem appears to be a possible fluid leak in the circuit, which could cause braking distances to become longer than they should be, or prevent the vehicle from braking at all.
It seems this brake problem originated at the factory, as the brand’s spokesperson told the newspaper Le Parisien, during the assembly process of one of the last production batches of the Twizy, built up to 1 May of this year.
The recall process has already begun in Switzerland and in our country, where 825 units have been sold so far this year.
