Mercedes SLS AMG Curiosities Supercars Videos
The sad end of a beautiful Mercedes SLS AMG

The SLS AMG was the first supercar developed entirely by the German tuner AMG, but always under the supervision of Mercedes-Benz.
Just replaced by the new AMG GT model, the SLS will always remain in our memory as the reinterpretation of the “gullwing” concept.
However, there is always some story that makes our “car heart” shrink, and the one of this SLS AMG we bring you today is of that kind. A car like this is “destined” to endure over time, well cared for, enjoyed and admired in equal measure.
This is not the case of this beautiful silver unit, which in the video attached to this article suffers the rigours of a large crane that ends up turning it into, unfortunately, barely pieces of scrap. The SLS AMG ends up as a heap of metal in a scrapyard, apparently in the USA.
The exact reasons behind this very unpleasant event are not known for certain, since, if we look at the beginning of the video, the orange clearance lights on the sides of the SLS can clearly be seen, which rules out a possible destruction due to illegal importation.
Other hypotheses are also considered, such as flood damage, which, although possible, does not fit with the massive destruction the car is subjected to, since at the start of the recording it apparently looks “intact”, with numerous usable parts. However, during the 7 minutes the video lasts, the SLS AMG ends up reduced to small pieces of material, completely unusable.
The SLS AMG, powered by a naturally aspirated 6.3 V8 engine, had numerous variants throughout its commercial life, among which the convertible and the Black Series stood out, enjoying great success both with critics and in sales.
