The San FerMINI running of the bulls, an original initiative through the streets of Pamplona
Shortly before the San Fermín festivities begin, the MINI dealership in Pamplona has organised this original and sustainable run with 13 electric MINIs.

On 7 July the traditional and popular San Fermín begins. The streets of Pamplona fill with festivity, and one of the most intense bull runs in the whole world takes place. But before this festival begins, on Sunday 3 July an alternative run has been organised that turns out to be very original and surprising. It has been named San FerMINI because, instead of fighting bulls, the young men and women have run in front of several electric MINIs.
13 units of this electric city car have taken part, following the same route the bulls usually take during the popular Pamplona run. The run started at the corrals, continued up the Cuesta del Santo, past the Town Hall, along Calle Estafeta, Telefónica and the Callejón. Finally, it was the bullring that marked the end of the race.

To make everything even more authentic, several of the youth groups that usually take part in the runs were gathered together. Instead of bulls, it was those 13 electric MINIs that led the race. Many people witnessed this original way of celebrating these days leading up to one of the world’s best-known festivals.

The initiative has been prepared by the MINI dealership in Pamplona and, besides showcasing the brand’s electric model, it aims to raise awareness among Pamplona residents about the use of electric cars in urban environments. This action was first meant to take place two years ago, but the pandemic prevented it. This year it went ahead and proved to be a great success in terms of participation, allowing many people from Pamplona to enjoy a very original run.
The president of MINI Spain has presented several plaques to Pamplona City Council in recognition of the work and effort this council carries out in various aspects of sustainability and social action.
