The SEAT 600 will be a major highlight at Autoretro 2017

Classic vehicles are creating a segment of their own as time passes, becoming true jewels with a highly prized value. However, some stand out more than others, whether for their styling or because they have played a more or less important role throughout the history of the automobile. That is the case with the SEAT 600, a car that everyone has some memory of and that marked a before and after with its production.

The organisers of Autoretro 2017 have had a similar idea, which is why they have decided to feature the small 600 as the star of their event. But it is also a special occasion for the Spanish city car, since it turns 60 years old. Several versions of the SEAT 600 will be present at this year’s Autoretro.

SEAT has decided to bring the most cherished and remembered variants of its city car, and at the event we will be able to see units that have left the brand’s historic museum. This means they will be cared for down to the smallest detail. At Autoretro 2017 we will find the first 600 N from 1957, the convertible version of the 600 D dating from 1963, the 600 E from 1970 and the 600 L Especial from 1973.

But the Spanish company did not want to miss the opportunity, and two more versions of the small SEAT will also be present. Specifically, we will also be able to see the 600 Formicheta, a van version based on the 600 D, and the SEAT 800, a 600 with a longer wheelbase and four doors. Both vehicles enjoyed great success while their production was active.

Few classic vehicles have the same character as the SEAT 600, and even fewer awaken the sense of nostalgia that this small city car manages to generate in our memories. That is why SEAT has decided to create a special tribute for all those 600s still on our roads — and there are quite a few — and all owners will be able to display their car next Saturday the 18th in the same exhibition hall as the event.

Autoretro 2017 will take place between 16 and 19 November at the Montjuïc venue of Fira de Barcelona. The gathering of 600s will begin at 9:30 in the morning, and the Spanish brand will have the opportunity to once again break the record for the largest parade of 600s in history, an occasion at which more than 700 vehicles gathered.
