Thirteen years ago, production began on the seventh generation of the Rolls-Royce Phantom, one of the most luxurious cars in the world, which rightly enjoys a reputation as one of the most perfect cars you can find. Unfortunately, all things must come to an end, so over the course of this year we will see the last units of this model. At least, in the version currently being produced. This is something to keep in mind, because this has been the model on which the revival of the British brand was built in our time.

In November, the last units of the Phantom Coupé and the Drophead Coupé will be manufactured at the Goodwood factory. These models will have no successor, so they will be the last truly so. No similar models will arrive for a long time, and we will have to wait to see what surprises the British brand has in store. But as it must be, they will disappear with tremendous style.

A special edition to say goodbye

So much so that they will do it with a special edition of the Drophead Coupé called the Rolls-Royce Phantom Zenith, a name that could not be more fitting for bidding farewell to potential buyers of the model. They will have to hurry to get one of the cars, since production will be limited to just 50 units, which will surely be sold out before production ends.

According to the brand’s statement, it will truly represent the zenith of the model, and it will not be the last special edition the Phantom has before leaving the market. The car will represent the highest level the Phantom has ever reached, which says a lot, and it will have its own characteristics that will make us wish it would stay in production, and with a bit of luck one might land on us for a birthday or something.

Although it debuted in 2003, the Phantom VII has been adding improvements and special versions, such as the Phantom Extended Wheelbase in 2005. In 2007 the Phantom Drophead Coupé arrived, and a year later, the Phantom Coupé. Each Phantom that leaves the Goodwood factory has a distinctive name and is unique. If it were not so, it would not be a Rolls-Royce, would it? You can find this model until the end of the year. After that… who knows?
