Once again Highmotor is already preparing its usual coverage ahead of the Geneva Motor Show, which kicks off on March 1st.

In the meantime, here is a guide to all the news expected at the Swiss event. This year Geneva is coming in strong!

The Geneva Motor Show is an unmissable event for any motoring enthusiast. Every year, manufacturers from all over the world gather for 15 days to unveil their latest proposals for the future.

Audi Q2

Q2 1

The brand with the four rings arrives in Geneva with a new model under its arm: a new member of the Q family, in this case the smallest of them all. After a couple of teasers, next week Audi will present the Q2, the brand’s first SUV built on the MQB platform. It will be the “posh” cousin of the VW Tiguan and SEAT Ateca.

BMW M2 and M760Li

BMW is presenting two new models at the Geneva Motor Show. Although both are developed by the specialists of the ///M division, their approaches are somewhat different. The first is the M2 Coupé, the smallest member of the family, equipped with a 3.0 Turbo engine producing 370 CV.

The M760Li is the most expensive and exclusive variant of the 7 Series. It features a 6.6 V12 Twinpower Turbo engine with 600 CV and 800 Nm, offering distinction and performance in abundance.

Bugatti Chiron

Chiron 1

The Chiron will undoubtedly be one of the stars of the show. It is, quite simply, the successor to the all-powerful Veyron. Its design will be more aggressive, and it will offer power and performance levels never seen before, with approximately 1,500 CV, capable of reaching 450 km/h.

Ferrari GT4 Lusso

Ferrari arrives in Geneva with the successor to the FF, a sports car that broke the mold within the Prancing Horse brand. The GT4 Lusso offers a more aggressive and refined design, higher performance levels and a more polished driving dynamic, more Ferrari.

Fiat 124 Spyder

Fiat 124 Spider (5)

Fiat is betting heavily on the Swiss event. Besides the TIPO, a small C-segment saloon we already had the opportunity to test at Highmotor, the Italians will show the 124 Spyder, a two-seat roadster built in collaboration with Mazda. In the Italian’s case, it replaces the naturally aspirated engines of the Japanese with a 140 CV Multiair turbo engine.

Jaguar F-Type SVR

SVR

The F-Type has quickly become an institution within the English brand. Now the British are presenting the most aggressive version, dubbed SVR. Available in coupé and convertible versions, it features a supercharged 5.0 V8 engine with 575 CV and 700 Nm. Racing details are also plentiful.

KIA Niro and Optima Hybrid

2017 Niro

KIA wants 2016 to be a great year. Taking advantage of the motor show, the Koreans will present the Niro and the Optima Hybrid, two eco-focused models. The Niro is a model built specifically to house hybrid powertrains, while the Optima Hybrid introduces a new engine option in the range of its D-segment saloon.

Lexus LC500 and LC500h

LC500h 1

Lexus’s proposal for this show is one of the most striking and spectacular of the event. It will be the first European show where the new creation of the premium brand Toyota can be seen. With a breathtaking coupé body, it will offer petrol-powered and hybrid versions with plenty of power and sportiness.

Maserati Levante

Geneva will be where we can see for the first time what will be the Italian brand’s first SUV, named

Maserati LevanteLevante 3. Based on the Quattroporte chassis, it will also use the same engines, with the aim of creating one of the most dynamic SUVs on the market, ready to go head to head with models such as the Porsche Cayenne or the Bentley Bentayga.

Mercedes C-Cabrio, E-Class, SLC and SL

At Mercedes they know the first European show is one of the most important, and the Star brand is arriving with its full arsenal. At the Geneva Motor Show they will display the

convertible version of the C-ClassMercedes-Benz SLC, R 172, 2015, with a fabric roof, the new generation of the E-Class, more advanced than ever, the SLC, which is nothing more than an update of the previous SLK, and the SL, which also debuts a more contemporary and youthful design.

Opel Mokka-X and Ampera-E

The Opel stand will feature the two most novel proposals from the brand. Following the successful launch of the new generation Astra, now it is the turn of the new

Mokka-XOpel Ampera-e, an update of the current Mokka with a more attractive design and a much more refined interior.

The Ampera-E, the German brand’s bet on electric mobility, will also be shown. It is a small futuristic-design MPV capable of covering more than 300 km on a single charge.

Pagani Huayra BC

At Pagani they will take the opportunity to show the brand’s latest creation, the

Huayra BCBC 5, a special edition of its hypercar with 789 CV and a weight of 1,318 kg, making it one of the fastest Paganis in history. Its unique livery adds even more exclusivity to the package, of which only 20 units will be built.

Renault Megane S.T and Scenic

The diamond brand arrives in Geneva with the estate body of the Megane, dubbed

Sport TourerScenic 2, with a more attractive design than ever and a much more advanced chassis. Furthermore, it will be the first time we see the new generation of Scenic, one of Renault’s most important models, which improves in every respect.

SEAT Ateca

SEAT is going all out with the

AtecaAteca 2, the brand’s first SUV. It is a model built on the MQB platform, which will share components with both the Volkswagen Tiguan and the Audi Q2, as well as with the model I’m about to tell you about. Its design is inevitably reminiscent of a raised Leon.

Skoda VisionS

The

VisionSVisionS 1 is the latest member of the VW Group’s new SUV family. Of course, it is also built on the MQB platform, although with a design language adapted to the trends of the Czech brand. It will also be the first model from the brand to offer 7 seats.

Ssangyong XLV

Ssangyong presents the family-oriented version of the Tivoli, a model which, despite having been on sale for only a few months, is enjoying overwhelming success. In Geneva we will see the

XLVSsangyong-XLV-3, the 7-seat variant of the model, more capable and more practical but with a very similar design.

Toyota CH-R

On the Toyota stand we will see the CH-R concept, which

we told you about a few days agoCH-R 1. It is a small B-segment SUV built in Europe that will feature a very youthful design and the option of a hybrid powertrain to set it apart from its rivals.

Volvo V90, S90 and V40

Volvo skipped the Frankfurt show six months ago, but this time they didn’t want to miss Geneva, where they will present the new

V90Volvo V40 T5 AWD Cross Country Location 3/4 Front and S90, their largest models, as well as the update of the V40, which has now been redesigned to feature a front end similar to that of its bigger siblings.

As you can see, GIMS 2016 is packed with new models, so if you want to stay on top of everything, join us for our special coverage on the site as well as on Twitter and Facebook, where we will thoroughly follow one of the most important events at the European level.
