For several weeks now, we have been witnessing the arrival of the new Skoda Kodiaq, a seven-seat SUV that will soon reach the European market. We have been seeing it in promotional photos and even in that mock-up showing the car that could be the standard-bearer for each of the national teams taking part in Euro 2016, representing the Czech team.

Today, we have seen how this SUV is being tested at the place where cars are measured under the most demanding road conditions in Europe. The Nürburgring circuit is known as The Green Hell and has one of the most demanding tracks in the world. On the circuit, it is checked how the car performs and its behavior can be observed over a complicated course. The results obtained help improve the final behavior of the vehicle and are extremely useful.

The difficulty of the Nürburgring puts the Kodiaq to the test

The flagship of Skoda is shown circulating around the Nürburgring in the video you can watch at the end of this article, where you will be able to see how this off-roader moves. It takes its name from an Alaskan island and is set to mark a before and after in Skoda, since its design style seeks to offer a powerful and dynamic image, ideal for difficult terrain.

This model has seven seats, but there is already talk of a version that will stay at five, aiming for a more compact size and one that could maintain the power levels offered by its well-judged engine range. It sits on the MQB platform, which allows for a good variety of engines, with different displacements and power outputs, to suit the needs of each future buyer.

These engines range from the 1.4-litre TSI block, which produces 123 CV, up to the 1.8-litre TSI unit that reaches 177 CV. Diesel engines are also expected, including a 1.6-litre TDI and a 2.0-litre TDI, which will be offered with two power outputs, 150 CV and 190 CV. We will leave you with this video so you can get an idea of what this attractive and efficient SUV will be like when it arrives on the market very soon.
