Edo Competition is a German tuning company that specialises in “tweaking” high-end cars to give them the extra personality that some supercars often need. Perhaps the Porsche 911 991 GT3 RS is not one of those that most need to boost its sporty image but, even so, the following modifications suit this German car well.

The CEO of the tuning house, Edo Karabegovic, is a true fan of the Stuttgart brand, so much so that he reportedly owns three Porsche 918 Spyders.

As we can see in the images accompanying this article, the presence the 911 GT3 has after passing through the hands of the Edo Competition team is more suited to racetracks than public roads. We already know that the standard version sold by Porsche is very dynamic and aggressive, but this preparation reminds us of a car built for “track use only”.

The aim of these changes is not only to increase visual dynamism, but also to improve performance through optimisations to the air channelling. If we look closely, we can see the air outlets built into the front fins to improve airflow around the tyres and brakes, and it also receives new channels on the rear side section.

The bodywork can be ordered in either gloss black or matt black, and we can also fit a carbon fibre package that includes, among other things, the air intake grilles and rear spoiler in this lightweight material.

Edo Competition has not wanted to go as far as increasing the power of the 3.8-litre naturally aspirated flat-six boxer engine that produces 500 CV at full throttle. The tuner has probably thought that this is already enough and that it is unnecessary. Adding a touch of distinction was all they needed.

We recall that the Porsche 911 GT3 RS in its 991 bodywork is one of the most entertaining and powerful supercars on the market, focused on track use, but approved for public roads. It does not aim to be a comfortable or particularly pleasant car for long journeys; it simply wants to be fast and make its driver feel as if they are in a racing car, and it achieves that.
