The Skoda Kodiaq vRS will arrive in 2018 and could offer 240 CV with a diesel engine

The possibility of Škoda building a vRS version of its largest SUV, the Kodiaq, has been on the agenda for several months. Apparently, the brand has finally decided to produce this variant, and it will do so starting next year.

The British publication Autocar claims that the hot version of the Škoda Kodiaq will reach the market in 2018 and, as expected, will include a package of modifications that will increase the sportiness of the vehicle’s exterior bodywork.

In addition to the design changes, the Skoda Kodiaq vRS will offer a sportier suspension, improved brakes, larger wheels with their respective new-design rims and, of course, several vRS badges spread across the exterior of the vehicle. The interior of the sporty SUV will not feature major changes, although some details are expected that will set it slightly apart from the standard versions.

It is still unknown which engine the sportiest version of the Kodiaq will feature, although according to the sources consulted by Autocar magazine, the model will offer significant torque. Based on that description, everything points to the Skoda Kodiaq vRS being diesel-powered.

This is not the first time there has been speculation that the aforementioned Škoda sporty SUV could be diesel. According to a previous report, the Kodiaq vRS would feature a 2-liter, four-cylinder engine from the Volkswagen Tiguan. In that model, the engine produces 237 CV of power, 500 Nm of torque and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds, figures that fit perfectly with the description provided by Autocar’s sources.
