Lynk & Co Sedans Electric Cars
The sublime interior of the Lynk & Co Zero is revealed for the first time
The Lynk & Co Zero prototype lets us step inside its technological, luxurious and spectacular interior. An advance we would gladly see in the production vehicle
Emerging and in ever greater abundance, the creation, appearance, expansion or arrival of Chinese brands in, into or for Europe obliges us to cover more and more exotic proposals. 2020 was the year of electrification, but it was also the year of Chinese car brands and, above all, electric ones, where examples such as Lynk & Co have won us over completely.
For their designs, their technologies and, even, the quality of their finishes, the “Made in China” label in the automotive sector could seriously challenge the dominance of European brands in their own market, but even more so that of other Asian manufacturers from South Korea or Japan, faced with proposals as delicious as the one that Lynk & Co Zero offers from its interior.
Let it be said upfront that this vehicle is a prototype, that is true. That it is currently in the middle of its development phase, that is also true. But that, according to what we have been able to learn, the model that reaches production as the top of the range could replicate the images we bring you today of the Lynk & Co Zero prototype.
Breaking prejudices
We are not going to carry out an economic, geopolitical or marketing assessment of China, among other things because we are not specialists in any of those fields, but there is no doubt that the aforementioned stigma about the production of goods in this country was associated with two qualities: low prices and correspondingly low quality, that is, at the very least, reprehensible or disappointing, or
Subtly, the country’s technological transformation has led to China’s launch, literally to astronomical heights. In fact, it is now the world that looks at this country, and not the other way round, when it comes to seeking a guide or “inspiration”. And something the Chinese have demonstrated is their ability to study extensively, copy well and implement the results of their own productions to the point of surpassing the original sources of inspiration.

Something similar could be said of what the Lynk & Co Zero conveys to us from afar since its unveiling.
The cabin of the Lynk & Co Zero
Bearing in mind that Lynk & Co would serve as the flagship of the Geely group, a Chinese consortium that includes brands of strong European significance, such as Volvo or Lotus, within the new era of the industry in terms of cars of the new era, there is no doubt that the company, which just under five years ago was then unknown, has managed to apply the good taste of the Swedes with the sporty character of the British, even overshadowing the reformulated luxury brand of the conglomerate, which originally depended on Volvo, Polestar.
The Lynk & Co Zero, as a concept car or, at least, a pre-production vehicle, simply appears sublime.
The result on display is a demonstration that, at times, the tensions that are always difficult to balance between luxury, design and distinction, applied to habitability, comfort and functionality, come together in the interior of a car you never want to leave.
Without having the necessary information about the materials or the technological advantages present, the use of components that, at least at first sight, appear to be of high quality or the latest generation conveys a sense of empowerment typical of high-end vehicles and a significant financial outlay.
The delicacy with which every element, and even every piece or centimetre of components such as the panels, the buttons, the bridge between the seats or the seats themselves, appears to have been scrutinised conscientiously and without leaving anything to chance, as well as the technological ensemble found in, behind and around the steering wheel, with the digital screens acting as windows for opening and connecting to the car’s own technological repository and, we assume, connected to the internet or the Internet of Things,
A cabin that seems to cry out to be caressed by touch, leisurely admired by sight, deliciously inspired by smell… in short, enjoyed by each and every one of our nerve endings, given the emotional response that, according to the circuit tests that have been carried out, it will also demonstrate while driving.
