The ten best-selling cars in March 2022

Once again, as every month, we are going to review which cars were the best-selling during the previous month. It is March’s turn, so we are going to look at the best-selling cars in March 2022. Registrations of passenger cars and SUVs fell by 30.2% compared with March 2021, reaching 59,920 units.

The year-to-date total stands at 164,399 units, a decrease of 11.6% compared with the previous year. The average CO2 emissions were 120.1 grams/kilometre, which is 5% lower than the average of the models sold in March 2021. Let’s look at the ten best-selling cars in March 2022.

Hyundai Tucson

The Hyundai Tucson has risen to the top as the best-selling car in March 2022. It managed to register 2,245 units. The Tucson was the best-selling model in December 2021 and now, in the year-to-date total for 2022, it has reached 4,482 units.

Peugeot 208

The Lion brand is not far behind and takes second place with 1,709 units. This French supermini wins over drivers with its technology, its design and its wide range of engines, including the fully electric version.

Volkswagen T-Roc

The third place in the ranking goes to the Volkswagen T-Roc with 1,578 units. This SUV was the best-selling model of the German brand in 2021 and, in the year-to-date total, it holds fourth position with 4,001 units.

Citroën C3

The fourth spot in the selection of the ten best-selling cars in March 2022 goes to the Citroën C3 with 1,386 units. The model has gone a while without an update, but its performance remains good. In the year-to-date total it occupies tenth position.

Cupra Formentor

The Cupra Formentor takes fifth place in the ranking with 1,261 units. Its main draw is an entry-level engine producing 150 CV, although it is available in versions with much higher performance.

Toyota C-HR

The sixth place goes to the Toyota C-HR with 1,165 units. Its eye-catching styling and hybrid engines producing up to 184 CV make it the third best-selling car in the year-to-date total with 4,048 units.

Seat Arona

The Seat Arona is one of those models that cannot be missing from the best-selling cars. The Arona was the best-selling car in 2021 and in March 2022 it managed to register 1,108 units. From January to March it has recorded 3,538 units in total.

Peugeot 3008

The mid-size SUV from the Lion brand sold 1,098 units in March and remains the second best-selling model of the brand so far this year with 3,357 units.

Seat Ateca

After some time, the Seat Ateca returns to the list of the ten best-selling cars of the month with 1,097 units. In 2022 it is the second best-selling model of the Martorell-based brand with 3,368 units.

Fiat 500

The tenth position goes to the Fiat 500 with 1,088 units. This stylish supermini comes in fully electric and mild-hybrid versions.
