CUPRA Born e-Boost, new version with up to 231 CV of power

The new CUPRA Born welcomes a new member: the e-Boost version, which features expanded standard equipment as well as an increase in power

Cupra Born E Boost (1)

The new CUPRA Born has already started its journey. To be more precise, it did so last September with the arrival of the first of its versions, which came with a special launch edition featuring expanded equipment. Now that the Born has been with us for a few months, it is time for the brand to expand its offer, something it has already done with the Born e-Boost version.

At first glance, the CUPRA Born e-Boost is similar to the version already on the market, with a distinctly sporty look thanks to the aggressive gaze provided by the sharp LED front light cluster, the front bumper with large air intakes, or the prominent rear spoiler together with the diffuser. In its technological interior we also find sporty details such as the sports seats, which have been upholstered using SEAQUAL materials, also used by other brands, which are manufactured from recycled plastic waste taken from the Mediterranean Sea.

The CUPRA Born e-Boost features equipment similar to the version already found on the market, but as a higher-spec version it includes dedicated elements, among which the following are included:

  • Driving mode selector
  • Progressive steering
  • Front collision warning
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Unintended lane change assist
  • LED front and rear light cluster
  • Ambient lighting
  • Bucket-type sports seats
  • 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • Wireless Full Link
  • CUPRA Connect
  • 19-inch Typhoon wheels
  • 340 mm front brake discs
  • Heated leather-upholstered sports steering wheel
  • Boost mode

All standard equipment can be expanded thanks to the available options, in addition to three available packs, which include the following elements:

  • Advanced Pack: This pack includes navigation, predictive ACC, light assist, traffic sign recognition, rear-view camera and tinted glass.
  • Pro Pack

  • : This pack includes safe exit assist for both passengers and when reversing out of a parking space, intelligent parking assist, Pre-crash Assist and Dynamic sustainable upholstery, among others.
    Top Pack
  • : Includes Head-Up Display, front windscreen with acoustic shield, Beats Audio sound system and panoramic roof.

  • The new CUPRA Born e-Boost has under its bonnet the same electric motor with a power of

  • 204 CV

together with a torque of Cupra Born E Boost (3)310 Nm, although this version is capable of generating a peak power boost up to 231 CV while torque remains unchanged, so that thanks to this it accelerates to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds, reducing this time by 0.7 seconds compared to the base version.

The CUPRA Born e-Boost comes as standard with a 58 kWh battery, which allows it to achieve a Cupra Born E Boost (4)range of 420 km. Once the battery is depleted, we can recharge it using the Mode 2 cables (for a domestic alternating current socket) and Mode 3 (AC charging up to 11 kW via the included Mennekes plug), both supplied as standard, although optionally we have the Mode 4 cable for fast DC charging up to 120 kW. It will take 6 hours and 15 minutes to reach 80% using the Mode 3 cable, or only 35 minutes if we use the DC fast connector.

The new CUPRA Born e-Boost is now available to order in the Spanish market with a starting price of 40,220 euros, which will also come with a special Launch Edition with expanded standard equipment as happened with the base version, starting for this version at Cupra Born E Boost (5)47,320 euros for the e-Boost Launch Edition.
