C-HR Hyundai IONIQ Lexus Toyota Hybrid Cars
The three best hybrid cars for less than 25,000 euros
Hybrid cars are very much in the news. But which are the best three hybrid cars for less than 25,000 euros? These ones.
The road towards electrifying the vehicle fleet is advancing at a rapid pace. Fully electric cars are taking all the spotlight in recent months, so conventional hybrid cars are being left aside.
However, hybrid cars remain the most practical and feasible option when it comes to buying an eco-friendly car. They offer a range similar to any car and a price much more competitive than that of a 100% electric vehicle. In addition, they feature an electric motor that helps the combustion engine achieve really low consumption, especially if you follow these tips for reducing consumption in a hybrid car. Moreover, this type of car comes with the advantages of the ECO label from the DGT.
If you have a budget of no more than 25,000 euros and need a hybrid car to enter the city centre, we bring you the three best options. Furthermore, the three belong to different segments, so if you fancy an SUV, prefer the practicality of a saloon or are seduced by the idea of a premium compact, keep reading.
Toyota CH-R
The Toyota CH-R was presented in 2017, positioning itself as the more attractive sibling of the Toyota Prius. Despite its crossover styling, it is not designed to be driven off the tarmac, which comes as no surprise (practically no SUV is designed for that).
The Toyota CH-R features a hybrid system made up of a 98 hp combustion engine and a 53 kW electric motor, giving a combined power of 122 hp. The Toyota CH-R sends this power to the front wheels, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 11 seconds and achieving a combined consumption of 3.8 litres per 100 kilometres.
The starting price of the Toyota CH-R is 24,850 euros, a price at which you can have a car with an attractive design, ECO label and a very complete equipment list: pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and automatic light sensor.
Hyunai Ioniq
The Hyundai Ioniq has been on sale since 2016 and has just undergone a update this same year. It comes in three different versions: hybrid, electric and plug-in hybrid. However, we are going to focus on the first of the options. It is a saloon with a very pleasant driving experience.
The hybrid version of the Hyundai Ioniq has a combined output of 141 hp from its two engines (combustion and electric). What sets the Korean model apart from most of its competitors is that its propulsion system is paired with a dual-clutch gearbox. This can be an advantage, since its driving feel is much closer to that of any conventional vehicle. Its combined consumption stands at 3.9 litres, so it can save you a good few euros at the end of the month.
The Hyundai Ioniq has three equipment levels, the cheapest being the Klass, with a price starting at 20,990 euros with the brand’s discounts applied. For this price, the Hyundai Ioniq offers safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert and blind spot detection.
Lexus CT200h
The Lexus CT200h was launched on the market in 2013, so it is already one of the oldest models on the market. However, Lexus decided in 2017 that its compact model would be exclusively hybrid.
For this reason, from this year onwards, the Lexus CT200h features a hybrid powertrain with an output of 136 hp. In addition, the Lexus CT200h’s equipment is quite complete, with standard features such as the pre-collision system, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning system or automatic light switching.
It is the most luxurious option of the trio we have brought you, so for 24,900 euros you can have a premium-segment compact with complete equipment and, moreover, with all the advantages of having the ECO label on the windscreen.
