The Toyota Land Cruiser awaits its renewal

The Toyota Land Cruiser has long been an established name in the world of off-roading. The current model has been on the market since 2010, and Toyota has considered it the right time to present some exterior modifications that are quite significant, especially at the front. The rear and the interior also show changes, although the engines will remain the same.
The grille, headlights and bumper have a new design. The grille now features vertical lines that represent the vehicle’s robustness. The front lights will now include LEDs for the daytime running light function, while at the rear the central chrome trim will be larger and the taillights have a new design, alternating red and white.

As we mentioned, the engines will remain unchanged. This means the 3.0-litre diesel will deliver 190 CV and the V6 petrol engine for the five-door version will continue with its 282 CV and 385 Nm of torque. Both engines can be combined with a six-speed automatic gearbox or a five-speed manual. Toyota reports that both engines are capable of towing up to 1,360 kg.
Some changes have also been made to the interior. The Land Cruiser receives new instrumentation, new upholstery, new seats in the second and third rows, and the overall finish is improved. The new equipment will also include a 4-inch colour display between the gauges, which shows information on gradient inclination and the amount of traction available, part of the Crawl Control system, along with the buttons for the self-locking central differential and rear differential lock, respectively. These controls have been relocated and are now rotary.

The Multi-Terrain Select (MTS) will be optional on the new Land Cruiser, a system that changes the traction control mode and the wheel slip control of each wheel, depending on one of the six selected modes and the surface conditions.
Prices for the new model are not yet known, as it will reach European dealerships towards the end of this year. The current model is still on sale and is offered from 35,500 euros in Spain, for the three-door version.
