The Toyota Yaris GRMN with 205 CV will be presented in Geneva
The Japanese manufacturer has announced that it will present the most radical version of the Yaris in Geneva and that it will carry the GRMN name.
The most radical production version of the Toyota Yaris will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show, and it will be called Yaris GRMN (whose initials stand for Gazoo Racing – the Toyota team in the World Rally and Endurance championships – Masters of Nürburgring). This sporty version of the city car will have 205 CV of power and is inspired by the Yaris WRC, the vehicle with which the brand returns to the World Rally Championship after 18 years.
This is the first sporty city car built by the Japanese company. The Yaris GRMN will feature a 1.8-litre petrol engine producing 205 CV. It will be the only car in its class to use a supercharged engine instead of a turbocharged one. These performance figures make it the most powerful model in its category, outperforming rivals such as the standard Ford Fiesta ST (182 CV).

The images of this sporty version of the Yaris show the revamped styling of the base city car, a model that will be presented at the same time as the radical variant. The Yaris GRMN features quite aggressive front and rear bumpers, as well as side graphics in the rally team’s colours. At the rear, the most notable addition is a large spoiler positioned on the edge of the roofline.
The Yaris GRMN is scheduled to be presented at the Geneva Motor Show, coinciding with Toyota’s return to the World Rally Championship. The Japanese manufacturer’s last participation in rallying dates back to 1999; now it will return with the Yaris WRC.

Toyota has reorganised its internal structure to develop the Yaris WRC. The person who until now was in charge of the Toyota GT86 will join the Gazoo Racing team and will oversee the development of the rally car.
