The Volkswagen Golf has received a series of aesthetic changes, and the electric version of the model has not wanted to be left behind. So the Los Angeles Auto Show was the place where we were able to see this change in the car. The model’s exterior has changed, with new lights and other design elements that give it a refreshed look. Inside, the entertainment and information system has also been improved, so it features superior technology equipment.

But where there are important changes is under the bonnet. The new 35.8 kWh batteries allow the range of the e-Golf to increase by 50%, so it can now cover up to 200 km on a single charge. This battery gets its energy through a new 7.2 kW charger that comes as standard equipment on the car. Thanks to this new charger, charging time is reduced; with a standard charger it takes only six hours.

But the German company has also wanted to include a DC fast charger, which allows the battery to be charged to 80% of its capacity in just one hour. With this capability, the new Volkswagen e-Golf can be ready to use in a very short time. And the improvements don’t stop at the battery: the electric motor has also received an upgrade.

The engine’s power has increased to the equivalent of 134 CV, which is 19 CV more than the previous version. The maximum torque has also increased from 270 to 290 Nm. With these increases, the top speed reaches 150 km/h and allows acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.6 seconds.

With all of this, the model is becoming a very attractive electric car that will be well received by enthusiasts of this type of vehicle, with zero emissions, and that are gradually becoming a real alternative to traditional combustion engines. What do you think of this new version of the e-Golf?
