The Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR is already priced: from 43,600 euros
Volkswagen is putting on sale the TCR version of the Golf GTI. Priced from 43,600 euros, only 290 units will be offered for Spain.
If you were waiting for the arrival of the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR on the Spanish market, which we consider the “affordable” alternative to the Golf GTI, after the first details, pay attention. Because Volkswagen has just announced the prices and standard equipment.
The bad news (or good, depending on how you look at it) is that the Golf GTI TCR arrives as a limited edition and only 290 units are destined for our market. Reservations can already be made, at a price of 43,600 euros.
290 CV engine and DSG gearbox as standard
The Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR inherits the genes of the competition version that has won the TCR International Series twice. And we are not only talking about exclusive decoration. Under the bonnet, the 2.0 turbo petrol engine of the Golf GTI Performance receives a dose of extra power to go from 245 to 290 CV.

With a dual-clutch DSG gearbox as standard, the Golf GTI TCR needs only 5.6 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. The top speed is limited as standard to 250 km/h, although Volkswagen offers the possibility of raising this limit to 260 km/h.
Equipped for everyday use… and for the track
Among the standard driving-related equipment of the Golf GTI TCR is the front limited-slip differential with electronic control. The brakes, with floating and perforated front discs, are also specific to this version. The finishing touch is provided by the adaptive chassis control damping, the 18-inch forged wheels and the sports seats.

For comfort and safety, the Front Assist braking assistant, adaptive cruise control, LED headlights and rear lights, and the Digital Cockpit instrumentation are fitted as standard. The exterior and interior decoration pays homage to the competition model, with a red mark at 12 o’clock on the steering wheel, Alcantara upholstery in various areas of the cabin, red piping, a gloss black rear diffuser, the front spoiler and the roof spoiler.

As personalisation options, there is a pack which for 1,305 euros includes 19-inch matt black wheels with 235/35-19 tyres, progressive steering and suspension with a sportier setting, in addition to the increased speed limit.
A second pack, priced at 2,710 euros, comprises all of the above, plus specific Pretoria design wheels fitted with semi-slick tyres.
