Model X Tesla Electric Cars SUV
A Tesla Model X in estate-style off-road trim to prove its worth
A group of owners of a Tesla Model X wanted to test the off-road capabilities of the electric SUV and recorded it on video so we can all see it

SUVs are currently the best-selling type of vehicle, and there are more and more models on the market to satisfy fans of crossover-style vehicles. It should be kept in mind that an SUV is not exactly a off-road vehicle, because it is designed to be driven on the road with some off-road capabilities. So when we see an SUV off a paved road or at least one that is comfortable for a car, it is always curious. Now, imagine a 100% electric SUV designed to be enjoyed in the city being subjected to a demanding course.
That is the case of a Tesla Model X, the SUV from the American brand that has begun to be sold in several markets, including Europe, and that has fallen into the hands of a group of Czechs who wanted to test its abilities as a crossover. Said and done, as they say, they put the Tesla Model X on muddy terrain, with large puddles and difficult stretches. And you can see the result in the video at the end of the article.

We should not fool ourselves. Although the Tesla Model X, like many other SUVs, can face a complicated terrain with some success, they are not off-road vehicles. In the video we see how, in some stretches, the Model X is about to give up and get stuck in one of the puddles it crosses.
The ground clearance of the Tesla Model X is not suitable for this type of terrain, and it perhaps needs a bit more grip and off-road capability. Even so, it comes out of the test fairly well. The power of its two motors allows it to tackle this type of terrain, but the skill of the driver is important, because, as we have already said, it is more of a car to show off on comfortable terrain than on this kind of more demanding route.
The Tesla Model X is an expensive car, something to keep in mind when we put it through this test. We normally find this 100% electric car on pleasant, perfectly clean terrain, so it is a delight to see how it moves with considerable ease off the road. Wouldn’t you like to drive a Tesla Model X in these conditions?
