The Volkswagen Touareg bows out with a special edition

The Volkswagen Touareg is going to be discontinued in March 2026, but before that it wants to say goodbye with a special edition called Final Edition.

The end of sales for the Volkswagen Touareg is now set, so all that remains is to wait until March 2026 to say goodbye to this SUV from the brand. But no farewell is complete without a special edition that gives the model’s commercial life a worthy ending. In this case, it is called Final Edition, and it will be applied to all Touareg versions that mark the end of production.

We have already heard that the Touareg will arrive in an electric version, so its disappearance will not be total and it will remain on the market. One of the features of this Final Edition will be the lettering of this name on the rear window frames. It will also appear on the door sills, which are illuminated, the dashboard trims and, in the case of the top trim level, on the gear selector knob, which is wrapped in leather.

In the case of the entry-level trim, the Touareg offers heated seats that can be adjusted in 18 positions thanks to an electric system. The infotainment system features a curved screen that provides better access to information. The wheels are 18 inches and the range of driver assistance systems offers a good number of ADAS features that improve safety and comfort when driving.

The Elegance trim adds front headlights with Matrix LED IQ.Light technology, 3D rear lights, multicolour ambient lighting, brushed aluminium or fine wood cabin details and chrome exhaust outlets. The next one up in the range is the R-Line, which is characterised by a sportier look, and its equipment follows the same direction.

The top version of the Touareg is the Touareg R Hybrid, which includes everything, including 22-inch wheels with blue brake calipers and a more powerful transmission setup than the rest of the range.

The Volkswagen Touareg Final Edition will be available until the end of March 2026 and will cost 75,025 euros for the entry version, rising to 103,005 euros for the Touareg R Hybrid.

The end of a successful SUV

Throughout its commercial life, the Touareg has achieved sales of 1.2 million units. This has made it one of users’ favourites, and its successor, now with an electric motor, is eagerly awaited.
