These are the main features of the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace

Anyone thinking of buying one of the few MPV-format models still being manufactured will have one more headache, because if SUVs have already taken up much ground in terms of versatility and capacity, they will now have to consider one more option: the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, a link between the regular Tiguan and the Touareg.

What will most catch the attention of those interested in it will be its size, since by using a wheelbase known as Long Wheelbase it goes from 2,681 to 2,791 mm, its length increases by 215 mm more, up to 4,701 mm, and this means that its rear overhang increases by 105 mm. This will undoubtedly be a great advantage for all those families who need space to store all their luggage.

In fact, compared to the regular Tiguan, the load capacity increases by 130 litres for the Tiguan Allspace. If the rear seats are moved to their most forward position, the load volume is 745 litres and, if the seats are folded down, the total load volume is 1,920 litres. Another great advantage of the Tiguan Allspace is the possibility of fitting a third row of two seats, leaving 215 litres of boot space. If these seats are not used they can be folded down and stored in the boot floor, leaving a capacity of 685 litres and, if all the rear seats are folded down, 1,760 litres.

In terms of equipment, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace also has expanded standard options for the Comfortline and Highline trims. For example, the standard equipment of the Comfortline trim now adds roof bars and silver diffuser, electric tailgate opening and closing, multifunction steering wheel and a leather gear lever knob. On the other hand, the Highline trim gets the same treatment, and this will add three-zone Air Care Climatronic, Keyless Access, Easy Open for the tailgate with sensors, and Full LED headlights with extended LED functions. The rest of the safety and entertainment equipment remains as known until now.

As for its engines, it leaves aside the most basic ones of the regular Tiguan, so on the petrol side we find the 1.4 TSI with 150 CV and the 2.0 TSI with 180 CV, while on the diesel side there is the 2.0 TDI with outputs of 150 CV, 190 CV and 240 CV. In the 150 CV engines, 4Motion permanent four-wheel drive will be available as an option, while for the rest it will come as standard; the same applies to the DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
