These are the worst and best Euro NCAP cars of November
Once again, safety tests and crash assessments produce a ranking of the best Euro NCAP cars
Once again, the body that studies the safety of new cars has published a report on the protection levels that the analysed vehicles offer both to their occupants and to the people who interact with them in their surroundings.
On this occasion, most of the vehicles tested were SUVs: the Ford Explorer Plug-in Hybrid, the Mazda CX-30, the Mercedes-Benz GLB and the Opel Corsa.

The Mazda CX-30 was not only one of the SUVs of 2019 but is also set to be one of the best Euro NCAP cars of the year now drawing to a close, above all in terms of overall score and, in particular, protection of adult occupants.
In fact, Mazda has been congratulated by the secretary general of Euro NCAP for the very high level of protection this SUV offers, thanks to a score of 99 percent in terms of safety for adult occupants. In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, it alone reached 37.6 out of a possible 38 points.
Overall, the MAZDA CX-30 fitted with the 2.0 petrol engine tested has achieved five Euro NCAP stars. The other two SUVs in the latest study achieved the same result.

And while the Mazda CX-30 scored 99 percent of the possible points for adult occupant safety, the Mercedes-Benz GLB is not far behind, scoring 92 %.
Overall, the measurements taken on a unit of the Mercedes-Benz GLB 200 – AMG-Line place it with five stars for the compact SUV from the German brand.

The new Ford Explorer Plug-in Hybrid has finally arrived in Europe, thanks to the electrification that Ford wants to bring to most of its vehicles.
The Opel Corsa 1.2 Edition’s Euro NCAP result is noteworthy, as it also achieves five stars, but its pedestrian and cyclist protection score in the event of a collision is where it is least impressive: 29.4 out of a possible 60 points.

The 2020 Opel Corsa achieves the same overall score as the 2014 version it replaces, but scores lower on adult and child occupant protection, while improving on pedestrian and cyclist protection and on driver assistance systems.
The days when the Opel Corsa achieved five stars and was one of the best Euro NCAP cars, as with the 2006 generation which, although other aspects were assessed, offered greater protection to adult occupants in particular, are well behind us.
Regarding the changes made over the years in which Euro NCAP tests have been carried out, now for more than 20 years, the body says it is already in the midst of introducing new or modified tests for 2020.
