Once again, a motoring gem has turned up after decades stored in a private warehouse under a pile of boxes. This time the survivor is a limited-edition 1978 Chevrolet Corvette.

In 1978, to mark the 25th anniversary of the Chevrolet Corvette, the brand created a unique limited edition inspired by the Pace Car of the Indianapolis 500. Only a handful of vehicles were built, and they quickly disappeared from dealerships, since they were a collector’s item that was bound to appreciate in value before long.

Naturally, the unit you see on screen was bought by an “investor“, as he might be called, who bought it and stored it in his garage without further ado. After some time, in 1995 to be precise, the owner sold the house where he had kept such a jewel, which forced him to move the vehicle to a storage facility in Detroit, where it was locked away for good together with a pile of boxes.

After finding the vehicle, a New England dealership has put it up for sale. Curiously, when they found it, not only did the tyres still hold their air, but the engine still ran like clockwork. Even so, it has been properly tuned up, so this is a very good opportunity to get your hands on a one-of-a-kind car.
