Things to take with you in the car on any journey
There are things that are essential to carry in the car, some that are mandatory and others that are advisable to avoid problems during trips

When we set off on a car trip there are several things to bear in mind which, although they may not seem so, can save us from a problem we might encounter along the way. But it is not only necessary to carry them on long journeys: some of these items are mandatory, so it is advisable to check that they are all present in the vehicle. According to Top10Motor, these are the things we should always carry in the car, whether they are mandatory or simply advisable to avoid problems.
Vehicle and driver documentation
Essential, because they can ask us for them at any time, both for the vehicle and for the driver. For the vehicle you must carry the vehicle registration document and the valid technical inspection card. The driver must always carry their driving licence. The insurance receipt is currently not mandatory, since there is a database that makes it possible to check whether the car has compulsory insurance or not.

Warning signals
You should always keep warning triangles and reflective vests for the occupants of the vehicle in the car. These must be used whenever the vehicle has to stop on the road in order to signal and make both the vehicle and its occupants more visible.
Warm clothing
A blanket, a jacket or anything else that helps cope with a few hours stranded on the road is usually a good idea. Even in summer, suffering a breakdown and being stuck on the road for several hours at night can make some warmth necessary. If there are several occupants in the vehicle, it is best to consider this and prepare clothing for everyone.
Spare battery for mobile phones and devices
A mobile phone battery can run out at any moment, so it is important to carry an auxiliary battery to recharge the power. If it is going to stay in the car, bear in mind that you may need to recharge the phone several times quickly, so it is better to have a high-capacity power bank. This will allow you to use the phone’s torch if necessary and have enough power to call your car insurer or emergency services, if needed.
Duct tape
Take a leaf out of the American films. If something breaks, use duct tape. It is a type of adhesive tape with very strong grip that can help in situations such as a broken mirror or any other problem you may encounter. If you carry cable ties, they can also be useful, as well as a puncture repair kit or everything needed to change a wheel, if necessary.
Cash
Loose change left over from the petrol station, a 10 euro note or another amount that could be useful in an emergency can help in tight situations. If we keep the note with the documentation, we can turn to it when we run into a problem. Asking the roadside emergency service for fuel, which has to be paid for on the spot, buying food or drink at a service station, or any other emergency can all be handled with this small amount of money.
First-aid kit
A small first-aid kit with alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, gauze and adhesive tape can solve a good number of immediate problems. Adding some painkillers is even better. There are ready-made car first-aid kits, so there is no excuse for not carrying one of these small first-aid kits in the car.
