This Ford competition Mustang looks rather curious…
A new Ford competition Mustang has been unveiled in Australia. Painted white with racing livery across its entire body, it will make its debut at the Superloop Adelaide 500 on 14 February.
The look of this Ford Mustang competition car can be described as, to say the least, curious, especially when you look at the enormous wing of epic proportions, which seems to have been taken straight from the wet dream of a tuning obsessive.

Of course, this is not a 100% real Mustang, because although it has its look and bears its name, it is far from the original model, as this is a variant focused on performance above all else.
Created by Ford, Ford Performance, Shell V-Power Racing and Tickford Racing Australia, it has been homologated and accepted to take part in the upcoming supercar championship, sponsored by Virgin, in Australia.

Three teams will compete for the coveted trophy: Shell V-Power Racing (2 cars), Tickford Racing (3 cars) and 23Red Racing (1 car).
In the words of Kay Hart, President of Ford in Australia and CEO:
“This is a historic moment. Seeing a project become reality is incredibly exciting for everyone who has worked on it. Today marks the start of the mark Mustang will leave on the 2019 season. The Mustang belongs on the track, it was conceived for it, and everyone at Ford, including our fans, has been waiting for this moment.”
No one will confuse the new Mustang supercar with any other vehicle. Thanks, among other things, to its immense wing and its beautiful racing paint scheme, where the Mustang horse and the iconic blue and white return as the stars.

In the words of Brian Novak:
“We used the same process to create this supercar as we did with the NASCAR Mustang, the Mustang GT4 or the fun NHRA Mustang concept. That development has been tested through other programmes, for example the Ford GT programme at Le Mans, and we are responsible for passing this know-how on to the road car.”
