The Audi TT RS follows in the footsteps of its smaller siblings and gets its restyle
It was the missing piece to complete the range, and sooner rather than later the restyled Audi TT RS will reach our roads now that it has finally been unveiled

Just a couple of days ago, Audi confirmed the prices the Audi TT will finally have in Spain, for both its Roadster and Coupé bodies and the various variants we will find, including the limited TT 20 Years edition. It is precisely among these variants that we find the most powerful version for now: the TT S. But that won’t last long, since the restyle applied to the main part of the range has also reached the flagship, the TT RS.
New styling for an even sportier, more powerful look
Audi has sought to give this restyle of the Audi TT a more athletic, sportier image that conveys a sense of greater power. This has also carried over to the TT RS, which better matches the explosive engine found under its bonnet. At the front, the bumper has been redesigned, with larger side air intakes that make it look even wider and give it a more aggressive appearance. It also incorporates the Audi Singleframe grille in matt finish, with the Quattro logo in titanium finish.

The changes at the front don’t stop there, as a front spoiler inspired by competition has also been fitted, with a continuous design that rises at its ends. It comes as standard painted in body colour, although it can optionally be painted in matt aluminium or gloss black, as can the mirror housings, which can also be finished in matt aluminium, gloss black or carbon if you don’t want them in body colour.
On the sides, a new gloss black insert has been fitted to the door sills, while at the rear special attention has been paid to the rear spoiler, now with side fins and a specific diffuser that now features small notches on the sides. The finishing touch comes from the oval-shaped exhaust tailpipes and the new LED light units fitted as standard, although optionally you can fit Audi’s Matrix LED technology.

To further enhance its exterior look, specific packs are available, such as the gloss black styling pack or the matt aluminium pack, as well as various customisation options offered by the brand through its Audi Exclusive programme. This bespoke design will blend perfectly with the eight body colours available, including the new Kyalami green, which is exclusive to Audi’s RS models. It should also be said that, on the Roadster version, the fabric roof will always be black.
Sporty interior loaded with technology
The interior also seeks to convey all the sportiness seen outside, thanks to elements such as the RS sports seats upholstered in Alcántara with a diamond pattern, although you can optionally have them upholstered in fine Nappa leather with a honeycomb design. The RS sports steering wheel is also upholstered in leather, flat-bottomed and with paddle shifters at the rear. It also has the typical buttons, with two others to start or stop the engine and for the Audi Drive Select system. Small details can additionally be added thanks to the RS interior design pack.

But despite this sportiness, the new Audi TT RS offers a large technological display. An example is the virtual instrument panel with a 12.3-inch colour screen, where you can check information such as G-forces, engine torque and tyre pressure, and receive a light signal indicating the ideal moment to change gear. The MMI Navigation Plus system with MMI Touch, which comes as standard, will also prove valuable, as will the WiFi hotspot or the Audi Connect module for accessing the various online services.
400 CV of power from its award-winning 2.5 TFSI engine
Unlike its smaller siblings, the new Audi TT RS receives no mechanical changes, so we will still find the award-winning 2.5 TFSI engine, a five-cylinder unit delivering 400 CV and 480 Nm of torque, paired with the S tronic automatic gearbox and Quattro all-wheel drive. With this engine the TT RS accelerates to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds in the Coupé version, reaching a limited top speed of 250 km/h, which can be raised to 280 km/h as an option.

To offer a better driving experience, adjustments have been made to the suspension system for a sportier character, which can be further improved by fitting the RS sport plus sports suspension with adaptive dampers and Audi Magnetic Ride technology. The progressive steering also has specific settings for the TT RS, while for effective braking there are ventilated and drilled steel brake discs with black brake calipers, although red ones are available as an option.
The new Audi TT RS will soon arrive on our roads; in fact, orders are already being accepted from today at the brand’s dealer network, while the first units will be delivered to customers this coming spring. For now, the price it will have in our country has not been revealed.
