This is how Brian O'Conner got his iconic Nissan Skyline GTR R34

In the world of movies, we must highlight Brian O’Conner, a character from Fast and Furious, and today we tell you how he acquired his Nissan Skyline.

Movies related to the world of motoring have always been an essential complement for any petrolhead, which is why a few weeks ago we put together a list of five films you can’t miss. However, it is sometimes not the plot that truly catches the viewer’s attention, but a character and his loyal four-wheeled companion. This is exactly what happens with Brian O’Conner, one of the protagonists of the iconic Fast and Furious saga, who made a before and after mark in every single film alongside his car, a Nissan Skyline GTR R34.

Five years have already passed since the death of Paul Walker, the actor who brought O’Conner to life on the big screen, all the more reason to become attached to this character and his coveted ride. Throughout the evolution of the films we gradually got to know Brian and his role as an undercover cop, but it didn’t take him long to switch sides and start racing with Dominic Toretto and his crew.

In the early instalments, we witnessed numerous illegal races in which you wagered either money or your car’s papers, and we could see how Brian O’Conner and his R34 refused to be beaten so easily. However, none of the Fast and Furious films gave us any relevant information about how the iconic Nissan Skyline had ended up in Brian’s hands or about its previous whereabouts, until now.

Thanks to a previously unseen video, we have been able to witness this endearing story, which is placed chronologically between the first and second films of the beloved saga. We can see how O’Conner keeps evading the police and carries on with his new role as a street racer, a clandestine job that allows the young American to raise substantial sums of money.

After letting Toretto get away, Brian gets hold of a modified Honda Prelude, which he uses to evade the police and keep winning illegal races. After taking victory in several encounters, we notice they are following him very closely, which forces O’Conner to abandon the Japanese sports car and go in search of another car that matches his needs.

It is at this moment that Brian fulfils the dream of many motoring enthusiasts: going to a dealership and getting a somewhat neglected Nissan Skyline R34 unit. However, the young petrolhead quickly spruces it up and paints it, thus setting in motion the first steps towards the car we got to admire in the second film of this saga, 2 Fast 2 Furious.
