This is how the new Audi RS4 Avant sounds on the tarmac of the Nürburgring
Audi’s RS lineup may soon gain another variant, as a RS4 Avant prototype has been spotted on the Nürburgring circuit during testing

Audi’s RS model range is still empty and incomplete, as one of its flagships has yet to arrive to fill the spot that belongs to it. But this will not take long to change, and soon the most fortunate wallets will be able to enjoy the RS version of the new Audi A4, a model that is already conducting its dynamic tests on the ever-demanding Nürburgring track.
For those who settle for less and do not want to shell out the price of an Audi RS4, they can always opt for the equally sporty S4, although logically, if what you are looking for is the ultimate in dynamic and technological qualities and greater power, you will have no choice but to keep waiting a little longer. For now, though, you can content yourself with watching Audi’s test drivers push the RS4 to its limits at the Nürburgring and, of course, listening to the glorious roar of its engine.
As for the engine, no official details have been revealed yet, although if we go by the data being discussed, everything points to the new RS4 B9 moving from naturally aspirated V8 engines to V6 engines with an electrically driven turbo called E-Turbo. Power is also expected to rise slightly to match its main rivals, sitting at around 480 CV.
Regarding the styling, we can tell you very little, at least until they decide to strip off a bit more camouflage. But logically we can expect a much more aggressive styling and aerodynamic kit, clearly distinguishing it from the base A4 and its smaller S4 sibling. The equipment level will also be in line with the RS4’s standing, although there will always be some extra lurking around that, if you fancy it, will add to the already hefty bill.
And when will it be presented worldwide? On this question Audi is also keeping us in suspense, although an important date with many chances would be during the next edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show, though for that we will still have to wait until September.
