This is how Volvo conceives a house centred on the electric car
This garage has been created by Volvo to show how a home can change thanks to the incorporation of the electric car into a clean, multipurpose space.

The arrival of electric cars will bring important changes to our daily lives. Obviously, not everyone will be able to have charging stations at home, but this is one of the great advantages of this type of vehicle. The possibility of charging the batteries at home will allow users to forget about regularly going to petrol stations and leave this for longer journeys.
This possibility could cause homes to change and become places that not only store the car overnight, but also offer a space for teleworking, with the car not as the centre of the garage but as one more complement. Volvo has created the ideal space for storing and charging the car. It has installed it in a house in Palm Springs, California.

A showhouse with a garage for an electric Volvo
It is not an average house, but a home designed to showcase how to achieve a broader and more efficient use of garage space with an electric car. The Recharge Garage, as Volvo has named this space, enjoys the advantages that electric cars offer.

VOLVO RECHARGE GARAGE
To begin with, they have no oil leaks or other fluids that can stain the floor. This means the garage is conceived as a clean space, free of fumes and odours associated with cars. The company has installed three type 2 domestic chargers from the Volvo brand. a flexible workspace with an integrated desk and a folding table for holding teleworking meetings and other functions.
It has also included an entertainment centre consisting of a smart television and Bowers & Wilkins speakers. The cleanliness of the space achieved with the electric car allows this area to be used as a work and leisure centre. Another important point about this house is that it is equipped with solar panels, which is very useful because it provides clean energy for running the home and charging the batteries.
A concept of a home centred on the electric vehicle that could become quite common in a few years, when electric vehicles are the norm in our cities.
