Space X, a space transport company founded by Musk himself, has released a video of its latest space rocket prototype.

Elon Musk is not only known for his great exploits with one of the most popular car brands in the automotive industry (Tesla), but also for the creation of other companies that promise to open new horizons for humanity.

The company Space X, founded by Musk himself, aims to carry passengers on a space rocket to other planets in the solar system, but according to the latest video published by the company, its innovative means of transport could also be used to make journeys across our planet in record time: less than 30 minutes to get from New York to London, for example.

The rocket with which it would be possible to travel from one side of the planet to the other in a flash has been named BFR, whose initials in English stand for Big Fucking Rocket, and it certainly is. This reusable space rocket has a height of 120 meters, surpassing in size the largest functional rocket in the world to date, the Saturn V, the same one that took Neil Armstrong on his first steps on the lunar surface.

The BFR would be designed to carry crew and cargo, as well as to reach a speed of 27,000 km/h, which would allow it to reach any point on Earth in less than an hour; less than 30 minutes in most cases.

Is this a firm bet on the future or just pure science fiction? The technology exists and has been used before, but there are certain reasons why this invention will not easily become a reality. The first reason is that the price of a trip on this rocket would be absolutely exorbitant, and the second is that industries such as aviation have not tended to reduce flight times, but rather to reduce their cost by manufacturing more efficient aircraft. Who would pay the equivalent cost of putting a satellite into orbit in order to travel to another point on Earth in record time?
