This is the front view of the upcoming Renault Koleos

In recent hours, an image of the future Renault Koleos had leaked online. Hours later, the French manufacturer was practically forced to show the car officially. For now, they have only shown the front, the same part that had leaked.

In the image the brand has provided of the new Renault Koleos, we can see how the designers are making use of the new brand image introduced on its latest models (Talisman and Mégane).

The grille is dominated by a large diamond logo, which is “protected” by several horizontal slats that enhance the sense of width of the whole. The headlights of this new Renault Koleos keep the curious and modern shapes used by its smaller siblings, with the characteristic lower appendages. This detail makes it easy to recognize any model from the brand from a long distance.

Both the lower front section, the wheel arches and the side sills feature black protective cladding which, in addition to protecting the bodywork a little more when driving off-road, gives it a greater all-terrain presence. However, it does not seem to be designed for regular driving over rough terrain away from black asphalt. We only need to look at the low-profile tyres and the large wheels. We will wait until next week to confirm this, but it is logical that it will be available with front-wheel drive in most of its versions, with the option of all-wheel drive in the best-equipped ones.

This car, which will belong to the mid-size SUV segment (SUV-D), is mainly looking to carve out its place in the Chinese market, where Renault has high sales expectations. In fact, the brand has recently opened a new factory in the city of Wuhan, in China. Although it is not official, we expect the new Renault Koleos to reach the European market at the end of this year or the beginning of next year.

Its official presentation will take place next Monday, April 25, at the Beijing Motor Show, when we will have access to a large number of images and all the data the French brand provides.
