This is the Honda Civic e:HEV with the most silver paint in the world

The Honda Civic has the honour of being the best-selling model in the world. More than 50 million of these cars have rolled off the various production plants where it is built, and it has become the most sought-after in many countries. In Spain the first Civic hybrid was launched in 1999, so 25 years have now passed during which it has been possible to get one of these variants in our country. To celebrate this anniversary, Honda has designed a version with something very particular: its silver paint is the purest in the whole world.

To do so, Honda enlisted the work of Stuart Semple, an artist who works with paints in which he uses up to 64% precious metals of high quality. In this case, he used flakes of genuine silver and pigments mixed into an acrylic suspension. This paint can be applied very easily to all kinds of surfaces and achieves the appearance of solid gold and silver metals.

Once manufactured, this paint was handed over to the specialists of the The Syrup Room department, in Bournemouth, United Kingdom. They faced the challenge of applying it to the Honda Civic and giving it the look they were seeking for the model. The team worked on the car’s bodywork. First, the surface of the bodywork was cleaned and prepared to receive the silver paint.

This was carried out in a controlled environment free of impurities, to avoid contamination of the product. Once this preparation was complete, the bodywork was covered with several layers of protective, removable paint. When the bodywork was properly prepared, painting began with the paint prepared for this version of the popular model.

The car was painted with high-precision spray equipment. In this way the final layers of Silveriest Silver could be applied and this exclusive edition shaped to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the model’s launch in Spain.

This car marks 25 years of the Civic hybrid, but there is still a long road ahead for this model.
