Gravity Lucid Electric Cars SUV
This is the Lucid Gravity: a luxury SUV with more than 700 km of range
With the Gravity, which if everything goes according to plan will reach the US market in 2025, Lucid Motors wants to redefine the concept of the luxury electric SUV
In a world where SUVs are all the rage, the fact that Lucid Motors chose to launch its electric journey with a saloon could be considered an anomaly. The company is now set to correct this with the presentation of the production version of the Gravity, a seven-seat luxury SUV with three rows of seats that promises a record range within its segment.
Visitors to the Los Angeles Auto Show, which is taking place these days, have had the chance to see this new luxury electric SUV from the Californian manufacturer up close and in full detail. Let us also take a look at its main features.

First of all, its range deserves to be highlighted. Lucid Motors promises that its electric SUV will set it apart from other rivals in the competition, being capable of covering more than 700 km on a single charge. Although the Californian manufacturer has not wanted to reveal the exact capacity of the battery pack, it has said that its size will be just over half that of its most direct rivals. The efficiency gain this implies, thanks to the weight saving, is precisely what will allow the Lucid Gravity to offer those more than 700 km of range.
An electric SUV with plenty of class
Additionally, the company has explained that its new electric SUV has been developed on the basis of a new platform. This makes it clear that we are dealing with a vehicle with its own character, and it is not a crossover inspired by the Lucid Air saloon.
This new platform will allow the Gravity to benefit from a 900 V architecture, which will make it possible to add around 320 km in just 15 minutes using an ultra-fast DC charging point delivering 350 kW of power. Its 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in under 4 seconds, its capacity to carry more than 1,500 kg of payload, or the ability to tow a trailer of just over 2,700 kg are other features worth highlighting.

The Lucid Gravity will arrive first in the US market in 2025 with a starting price of 80 thousand dollars. It is not yet clear whether this entry version will be the one offering those more than 700 km of range. We suspect it probably won’t be.
For now nothing is known about its future sale in Europe, but given that the Lucid Air saloon is already available in several European markets, it would be normal for the Gravity to sooner or later reach the old continent as well.
