This is what happens when you own a pick-up but want a Ferrari

An enthusiast of the prancing horse has customised his own pick-up to turn it into a Ferrari. The detail and care he has put into achieving it are worthy of praise.

Ferrari is considered by everyone to be a legendary manufacturer, yet it does not build trucks. Even as its design rivals have jumped into the SUV pool, such as Maserati or Lamborghini, the prancing horse brand remains firmly on the sidelines. What would a Ferrari fan who loves SUVs do if their beloved brand doesn’t cater to their wishes?

One of these followers found his own (and expensive) solution to this problem. A 1980s “pick-up” van has been tuned by an enthusiast to mimic the look of a Testarrosa from the same decade. The vehicle in question has been spotted driving around Florida and on Reddit.

This tuned car is very special, as it has been carried out with great love and attention to detail. It has a Testarrosa badge on the tailgate and features numerous Italian brand shields inside, as well as one from Pininfarina (the famous designer of Ferrari). It wears Pirelli tyres on spectacular five-spoke alloy wheels. Although it may look like it, it doesn’t actually have any side air intake, but we suppose this wouldn’t have had much impact on the aerodynamics of an 1980s pick-up either.

The pick-up’s bodywork was modified using fibreglass and the typical red colour of Ferrari. Under the bonnet we find the Toyota engine from an 1980s Hilux, the same model Marty McFly drove in Back to the Future.
