This Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV wants to pay tribute to one of the best-known video games, Metal Gear Solid, and it will be presented at the Tokyo Motor Show.

The Tokyo Motor Show will begin shortly and, as we already know, people in this country have a particular fondness for video games. So it comes as no surprise that Mitsubishi has set about preparing a special version that pays tribute to one of the most popular video games in the world, Metal Gear Solid.
The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Night Seeker is one of the eight prototypes the brand will present during the event. It is based on the Outlander PHEV that has just been unveiled. It has been updated with a body kit that is quite spectacular, along with new wheels, which give it a more intense military look.

At the front, a transparent screen has been fitted to protect the headlights and the grille. There is also a metal guard at the bottom, which additionally has two anchor points for towing the vehicle if necessary, and some additional LED lights to improve visibility.
In profile we find wheel arch extensions, finished in matt colour, as is the rear roof rack. The black bodywork features motifs referencing the popular video game.

The changes appear to be limited to the aesthetics, because the Japanese brand has not announced any modifications to the chassis or the engine. The engine used by the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Night Seeker is the same as that of the regular model.
This plug-in hybrid engine consists of a combustion engine and an electric motor which, working together, deliver a power output of 225 kW, equivalent to 302 CV. The 22.7 kWh battery allows a combined range of 844 kilometres.
This is not the only prototype the brand will present in Tokyo. Another of the modified models that will arrive at the Japanese event is the Mitsubishi Delica D:5 Black Edition Active Seeker Concept, which is based on the MPV with crossover capabilities. It has been fitted with protective elements, and its bodywork features motifs representing the topography of Tokachi, Hokkaido, where the Mitsubishi test ground is located. In addition, a tent on the roof has been added, so you can enjoy camping in the open air.

Another of the models to be presented is two versions of the pick-up Triton, and three variants of models that have taken part in various motorsport events in the country throughout 2024.
