Three new supercars from New Zealand

It is the first time the New Zealand manufacturer Supercars NZ has offered details of its sports car, developed in honour of Denny Hulme, the only Formula 1 champion that the island nation has given to history.
The car called Hulme F1 has been developed over five years, during which the company has also given birth to two new models: an extreme CanAm version and another, the Hulme Spyder, which is due to be officially presented in 2010.
The first is equipped with a 600-horsepower LS7 V8 engine, which sends its power to the rear wheels through a six-speed Quaife manual gearbox. In short, the car’s mechanicals aim to bring Formula 1 features to the street, so it is no surprise that its top speed is 320 km/h.
As for the other two models, the company has not said what type of engines will be used; however, it has been revealed that it is negotiating with engine manufacturers, including those in Formula 1.
Leaving the mechanics aside, it has been reported that the Spyder will feature a windscreen, aerodynamic parts and a redesigned rear. The Hulme F1 will be distinguished by being a two-seater with a coupe style.
The speculated prices for the sports cars are around €380,000; however, it seems the project could remain just a beautiful dream, since Supercars NZ needs to raise €3.5 million to complete its development.
