Toyota presents the Verso 2014

With a new version and new engine, lower consumption, improvements to the multimedia equipment and other changes aimed at offering better finishes and greater comfort for its occupants, Toyota has presented the Verso MY2014 in Spain.

The first change the Verso will receive this year is the addition of a new version. The new Verso 115D stands out for its new 1.6 D-4D diesel engine, an engine that comes from BMW; this engine is the first step in a joint collaboration that could result in a new vehicle with a fuel cell and probably a sports car. Continuing with the Verso, the changes are only just beginning.

The new 115D will have a maximum torque of 270 Nm between 1,750 and 2,250 rpm, with lower consumption: 4.5 l/100 km, 8% less than the Verso 120D, helped in large part by the new Start/Stop system, emitting 119 g/km of CO2. The Verso engine range is thus made up of three diesel variants and two petrol ones.

With the Verso update also comes the update of the Toyota Touch 2 and Toyota Touch 2 & GO multimedia systems. The Touch 2 now incorporates more vehicle information, as well as a redesigned screen with a deeper 3D effect and higher resolution, going from 400 x 240 to 800 x 480. The Touch 2 & GO also gains new functions, such as on-screen zoom with a rotary control.

The Verso 2014 range brings other novelties such as the new Bronze body colour, new alloy wheels, a new gear lever trim and two new seat upholstery options. The instrument cluster has added a low tyre pressure indicator and a remaining-distance-to-next-oil-change indicator, the latter only on the 115D version.

There will be two versions, the Comfort and the Advance, with the Verso 130 Advance 7-seater available from €17,591, a price that already includes the special discount for Large Families and the PIVE 5 Plan for Large Families.
