Toyota previews the new RAV4 in a video
The next generation will adopt a front end very similar to that of the brand’s latest models. It will be unveiled this month in Los Angeles.

The off-roader from Toyota will once again be one of the most anticipated new releases at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The RAV4 was the star of the show two years ago thanks to the electric version developed jointly with Tesla. This year the Californian show will be the occasion to reveal the new generation of the model to the public. It is not hard to imagine that this market is vital for the RAV4.
So far the only thing Toyota has shown is a series of bodywork details in a teaser video. Enough to get a small idea of how much is going to change, but not so much as to spoil the surprise. The front end can be glimpsed in some way and confirms that it will follow the lines seen on the latest Toyota. The headlights will be smaller and will have a slight curve along their lower edge. These will sit close to the grille, longer and curved as on the new Auris or Avensis.

The rear lights can also be seen, which become horizontal, extending across the tailgate. Their colouring makes them resemble those of the Mitsubishi ASX. And in the blurred side view the increase in size can be appreciated. The profile will have an upward-sloping window line to give a more streamlined appearance. And the drop at the rear is less abrupt, so the silhouette moves away from the old-school off-roader concept.
The messages interspersed between the video images speak of a RAV4 that combines “sophistication and strength” and that will be characterised by “dynamism that adapts to the changing rhythm of life”. In short, we will have to wait for the official announcement in Los Angeles to learn some realistic detail about the next RAV4. We leave you with the teaser.
