TVR revives the spirit of the AC Cobra in Great Britain

In Great Britain, the relaunch of the legendary brand TVR has been announced. It is part of a famous lineage of British marques that enjoyed their golden age in the 1960s. Unfortunately, not many survived the onslaught of the modern industry, but TVR, which had passed into Russian hands in 2004, seems set to return, and it will do so with a sports car built around low weight and plenty of cylinders: a TVR with a V8 engine.

As is almost always the case in these situations, the V8 engine will be of North American manufacture, Ford or Chevrolet. The new machine will be unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, or perhaps even earlier.

Why do I say it revives the philosophy of the Cobra? Because this TVR (still unnamed) will be a two-seater that weighs little but pushes hard. The engine is estimated to be around 500 horsepower, enough for total enjoyment of a convertible, and rubber marks on the asphalt are guaranteed.

Until now, the most recent TVR model, the Sagaris, had a four-litre, six-cylinder inline engine. The new V8 model appears to be based on the Sagaris (they look identical), with a new engine swap.
